Leamington Uniform Policy

Leamington School will have a uniform from 2010 following consultation with the school community.  We believe that having a school uniform assists the children and community to develop a sense of identity with, and pride for their school.  It also assists with the development of the virtues respect, self discipline and excellence. 

 

All items can only be purchased from the School Office unless otherwise stated.

Boys Items

ü  Polar fleece with Leamington logo

ü  Hat with Leamington logo

ü  Sports shirt with Leamington logo (can be worn in class in place of polo shirt)

ü  Leamington School long sleeve shirt

Girls Items

Black or navy blue footwear (no visible or colorful logos)

Children are not required to wear footwear to, from, or around school.  Children are required to wear correct footwear during class trips

 

Timetable for full implementation of Leamington School uniform is as follows

Note:  The full uniform is available for purchase and allowed to be worn from Term 4 2009.

Term 1 2010 –compulsory for all year 1 – 6 children to wear a minimum of Leamington School shirt and hat

Term 2 2010 – compulsory for all year 1 – 6 children to wear a minimum of Leamington School warm top (polar fleece or jacket)

Term 1 2011 – full uniform is compulsory for all year 1- 6 students

 

Enforcement

Ø  Students will be required to wear a uniform in order to attend classes at Leamington School from the first day of attendance in accordance with the time frame of uniform implementation. 

Ø  Students who attend without wearing the correct uniform will be given a written warning and expected to be in correct uniform the following day. 

Ø  Failure to be in the correct uniform the following day will result in the parents of the student concerned being contacted directly.  Parents will be informed that failure to wear the correct uniform the next day will result in the student being removed from class until the correct uniform is worn unless written permission is obtained from the Principal to remain in class due to exceptional circumstances.

 

 

The uniform is to be worn with pride, and in a clean condition.

Marking or defacing the school uniform is not acceptable and will be dealt with as a behavioural issue.

If boys are wearing long socks as part of their uniform choice, these are to be pulled up under the knee.  

Hats are to be worn in the manner they were designed for.

Students may wear black or navy blue short sleeve thermals underneath their school uniform.  Long sleeve thermal tops are only to be worn underneath long sleeve polo shirts.

 

Raincoats and jackets - From Term 2 2010

Children are able to wear any type of raincoat to and from school on wet days. 

 

Physical Education Programmes and Sporting Events

Students involved in school sports teams from 2010 will be required to wear either the school polo shirt or sports shirts unless a specific shirt has been supplied (e.g. Rugby)

Students will not be required to wear a separate uniform for classroom physical education programmes. 

Children may wear a separate shirt of their own choosing if participating in physical education or rough and tumble games. 

 

Naming of uniform

All uniform items should be named.  All lost property that is not named will be donated to the PTA and sold second hand at the end of each term.

Payments and Purchase Information

Uniform items can be purchased from the school office.

In Term 4 2009, uniform items will only be available initially via appointment or via order form to the school office.

In 2010, the school office will be open from 26 – 29 January between 9 am and 3pm.

From Term 1 2010, uniform purchases can be made:

ü  at the school office between 8:40am and 3:15 pm during term time. 

ü  By order form via the school office.  Items will normally be delivered via the child within two days (normally within one day).  Order forms are available from the school office or via the school website.

 

All purchases are strictly cash on delivery
